The organisation of the World Port Baseball Tournament is supported by a number of ambassadors. Robert Eenhoorn, how wonderful it is when you can have an icon as him as ambassador. Robert Eenhoorn is now general manager of AZ Alkmaar (soccer), but will always be inextricably linked to the World Port Tournament. You can not speak of a career in baseball, talking about Robert. He IS baseball! Therefore not a picture of Robert, but a wonderful impression of small movies.
Hans Kleij is ‘commercial’ WPT ambassador. Over 40 years of baseball is in his heart. The Sparta youth, he was champion of the Netherlands and he has been part of the baseball selections of Sparta and HSV Zwijndrecht. In everyday life he worked as a Program Director at the Province of South Holland, where he focuses on complex programs in the field of regional development and infrastructure.
Hamilton Richardson played in the 60s and 70s in the Dutch league and he is one of the absolute icons of the Dutch baseball. He played 65 international matches for the Dutch team. He played 22 seasons for Sparta, with which he became 9 times champions. He was 7 times as Best Hitter and 6 times Most Valuable Player as voted by the Dutch competition. During the World Baseball Championship in 1970 in Columbus, Ohio (USA), he was named Best Outfielder of the tournament.
Arnold Keijzer is ambassador of the Waterway area. Residing in Maassluis, he knows that the first baseball and softball club is on the Waterway HSV Gophers. He also visits weekly competitions of international Michael Duursma. Not surprising, because Michael can call Arnold as father in law, dad. As alderman of the College of
B & W, he is working daily to do nice things for Maassluis.
